Most of the time we have it on the 21 of March when Aries sign is starting, but because this year we had 29 days in February (Leap year), the math for the Equinox moved by one day.

What is Equinox?

When the the Sun shines directly on the Equator and the length of the Day and Night are equal 12 hours daylight and 12 hours night time and this is the reason Astrology starts with the sign of Aries on March 21. The Equinox occurs two times a year.

The Spring (now) in the Northern Hemisphere and the Fall (Autumn) Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere and vice versa. The Fall Equinox occurs on September 22 in the North Hemisphere. The Spring Equinox marks the first day Astronomically of Spring.

In fact the name Equinox is derived from the Latin ward Aequus meaning equal and nox meaning night.

This is how the Astrology and Astronomy are holding hands in our universe.
